10 things worth noting // ed. 6
/alternatively titled: 10 things worth noting about a winter spring snowstorm
I would first like to note that my last 10 things worth noting post was labeled, “spring edition.” Yup.
1] Humor me. I took photos of the snow and am showing them to you. I realize you have all seen snow, but it’s April 17th and we have 20” of snow. I feel like that gives me the right to talk about the weather all I want. But don’t worry, I’ll leave it to this post.
2] This storm has been non-stop for 3 days. = I’ve been trapped inside for 3 days.
When you’re trapped inside for 3 days you start having crazy thoughts. = Like, shoveling is super duper FUN!
Chris has the car during the day, and I’m obviously not busting out the bike or scooter right now. As if I rode the scooter anyway.
3] The dogs are on strike.
4] We finally ventured out on a walk today. The snow queen was ridiculously overzealous, bounding through piles of snow. Always hilarious.
5] Goal for 2013: Buy adequate winter boots. You freaking live in Colorado.
6] Tomorrow is garbage + recycling day. Please tell me how these are going to be rolled 50yds from the back to the front of the house. Good thing I love to shovel.
7] While this snowstorm was slightly unexpected, it’s kind of the norm for spring in Colorado. You just never know what’s going to come. Last year, spring came in February. This year, winter came in February. Oddly enough, I’m enjoying it + rooting it on. We need as much moisture as possible so the entire state is not set into a fiery blaze this summer.
8] If you’re really bored, there is the option of checking in with the college boys next door. They are always up to something interesting. You know, like piling up snow and sledding off of the roof down into it. Ahhh, I remember those days. Yeah riiight. More like, Chris remembers those days.
Unfortunately, there are no photos of this event. However, I’m sure you can visualize it. If you want to come participate just don’t forget your neon framed sunglasses and Natty Light.
9] If you’re stuck inside for 3 days what better way to cope than by eating your way out of it. It’s waffle time people.
10] No, seriously. I made at least 10 trial batches of waffles and came away with 2 successful recipes, a waffle induced coma, and a freezer full of leftovers.
This snowstorm kind of ruled.
