Reader submission:
“Love love love my VFFs! I’ve had three knee surgeries and have had absolutely no knee pain with these. Also, my shin splints are completely gone! I always loved running around barefoot and when I found out about these I simply had to have them. I can run farther faster and am looking forward to doing the Army Ten Miler in them in October!”

I found this next VFF wearer thanks to Justin, over at www.birthdayshoes.com. He was contacted by a Dutch blogger Raymond, who seems to be one of the lucky ones for a quick + painless transition, running in Vibrams. He ran a 30k after only about 2 weeks into his VFF use. IMpressive. I contacted Raymond, via twitter and talked to him about posting a few of his VFF pics. He was more than happy to share.
You can check out his transition experience here! Thanks Raymond!

Reader Submission: This comes from Lisa over at Life is in the Details. Thanks Lisa!!! Can’t wait to hear more updates!
“So how did it go with the VFFs? I walked v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y and that seems to go well. I am not a barefoot outdoor person. I pretty much always wear shoes of some kind so walking on a hard surface took some getting used to. I had the same experience at the track. Running on the track hurt but running on the grass right inside the track felt heavenly!! I am not sore at all today in the typical running hot spots that usually hurt when you haven’t run in forever – shins, calves, etc – so that’s great!! Also my toes/neuroma in my right foot don’t hurt at all either (which is pretty incredible actually). And I got SO many compliments on them. The 3rd-5th grade girls LOVED them. They kept coming up to me telling me they liked the color and asking me about them. On our walk home a middle school boy on his way home from school said he liked my cool shoes. And me? I am loving them and can’t wait to give them another try on Thursday!”

Reader Submission: Ingunn just sent me a few photos of her sweet looking VFF’s. She actually has pair of black sprints as well for “social occasions.” LOVE it!!
She said,
“I could never run in conventional running shoes because of ankle, shin and knee pain, so VFFs have changed my life. I recommend them to all my single friends since they’re such a great conversation starter!”
I never thought of VFF’s as a tool for dating!! That, is awesome! haha

GORGEOUS!!

Reader Submission: Lindsey from Foodie on the Rocks just sent me some awesome photos in her VFF’s. Here is what she had to say so far:
“They were so so great for scrambling up the rocks to get to the wall we were climbing. I did a short very easy route in them, but I think I need to build up quite a bit more strength in my feet before I can use them on any route harder than a 5.6! They were also awesome to wear in between routes while belaying instead of the usual flip flop attire
.
I can’t wait to start working my way up to running regularly in these. I’m only running .5 miles at a time now and haven’t had a whole lot of time to use them since I’ve been training for my 10k this weekend.”
…
Reader Submission: Blog reader, Grant, just sent me his VFF story and a photo as well.
“I started wearing them after reading Born To Run as part of iRun Magazine’s Running Book club – which I help coordinate. http://www.irun.ca/blog/index.php/category/iread/
The book and working on the blog forced me to research barefoot and minimalist running and I think there is a lot of worth in this training/philosophy. I try to find the middle way with VFFs and I use them as only an aspect of my training. Currently I use them for one or two runs a week and always less than 5K. I can feel that it is helping build strength in my feet and lower legs. I’m also mindful of the biggest danger of any training, which is going too far too fast. I’m don’t want to injure myself and since running is a life long pursuit it would be foolish to throw away my shoes. Do I hope to run one day strictly in VFFs? Yes. But I expect that day is years and not months away. For now I am just enjoying adding it to my routine, the same way I added speed work and hill training.”

Reader Submission: Blog reader, Marta, just sent me her story + a photo in her VFF’s. Here’s what she had to say:
“I love my vibrams! I found them on a blog and started reading up about them, they just make sense. I could never run regularly before, I always had shin splints, knee & hip pain. I’ve had these since January and I can walk, jog & run regularly with no pain. It’s a friggin miracle.”

hey hey!! Love the blog! LOVE the pictures!! They’re incredible. I totally freaked when I saw the five fingers on your site, I remember when I thought I was the only one in the world to own a pair. But I’m not
Not even the only one in good old Colorado!

This page is such a great idea! I’m bookmarking this to go back over the submissions and read other people’s experiences.
I’m in love w/ VFFs and being a shoe junkie, I’d like a pair of every color.
It’s been rough transitioning, being a flatfooter. I’ve been transitioning for three months, and am just barely starting to go a bit onto the concrete. My ankles still get sore. I’m not giving up. Anything is better than the big clunky shoes.

I love all the new additions that I hadn’t seen in a while!! Awesome!!
